Naperville's Summer Place Theater has announced the cast of 'The Pajama Game', featuring book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell, and music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross.

Palm Beach Dramaworks has announced the 10 winners of its sixth annual Young Playwrights 10-Minute Play Contest (YPC). The plays will receive a staged reading by professional actors in front of an audience at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre on Wednesday, April 26 at 7:00pm. Tickets are free, but reservations are required.

On Thursday, July 18, I had the pleasure of seeing America's East Coast Premiere of BIRDS OF NORTH AMERICA, as put on by Thrown Stone, at the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, in Ridgefield, CT.  This play, written by Anna Moench, is yet another brilliant selection by Thrown Stone, bringing a meaningful show to a new audience.   Under the phenomenal direction of Jason Peck, this highly talented two person cast of J.R. Sullivan and Melisa Breiner-Sanders who portray father and daughter, respectively, have such an excellent stage chemistry with each other that, combined with the intimate setting of the venue makes it easy for the audience to forget that we are watching a show, and not eye-witnessing a real father and daughter interacting.

The Theatre Artists Workshop in Norwalk will present a staged reading of the Broadway hit 'God of Carnage' by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, on November 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. and November 18 at 3 p.m. Theatre Artists Workshop is located at 5 Gregory Boulevard in Norwalk. WHERE ALL GOOD RABBITS GO is a wonderfully performed show, presently running at the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, and put on by the Thrown Stone Theatre Company. Dealing with the sensitive topic of potentially terminal sickness, this is a powerful production, brilliantly performed. I highly recommend it.

The Theatre Artists Workshop(TAW) will present three staged readings of the classic Reginald Rose play 'Twelve Angry Men' on February 9 and 10 at 8 pm and February 11 at 3 pm for a suggested donation of $20. TAW is located at 5 Gregory Boulevard in Norwalk, CT.

Bucktown's Gorilla Tango Theatre is embarking on a bold new look at producing theatre en masse: Gorilla Tango Originals. The theatre has brought on Executive Producer Ellen Domonkos White (former Managing Director of New Millennium Theater Company) to head up this ambitious new works program, which will see the production of up to five new plays every month starting in March 2017. This will include a series titled, "Hear Our Voice," specifically designed to showcase underrepresented voices and talent in the Chicago theatre community.
