Summer Place Theatre Presents BROADWAY BACKWARDS
![]()
Summer Place Theatre, Naperville's community theatre since 1966, is proud to announce the cast of our original musical revue, "Broadway Backwards", conceived and produced by Jeff Sand, with vocal direction by Emma Gingold, and music direction by Rex Meyer.
"Broadway Backwards" will be a celebration of all your favorite Broadway tunes, turned on their heads! A female Judas belts the title song of Jesus Christ Superstar, backed up by a trio of manly angels. A stage full of male dancers invite a "Big Spender" to stay awhile. A disappointed queen sings to her "loyal, royal subjects" to remind them of her love. A baritone sings a lullaby to "young lovers, wherever you are," while two sopranos sing of the girl who has Lily's eyes. From Hammerstein to Hamilton, from Kander and Ebb to Pasek and Paul, we'll present decades of Broadway tunes as you've never heard them before!
The cast of Broadway Backwards includes Kelly Bailey (Joliet), Sarah Batzel (Downers Grove), Katie Casserilla (Shorewood), Sarah Czajka (North Riverside), Jason Czajka (North Riverside), Katherine Damisch (Glenview), Hannah Gleason (Plainfield), Nick Greanias (Lemont), Tracy Kay (Wheaton), Nicholas Kniebusch (Palos Park), Gina Kovanich (Brookfield), Kayla Lollar (Glen Ellyn), Mike Lynch (Palos Park), Audrey McGee (Western Springs), Sam Mingo, Kathleen Monson (Arlington Heights), Tony Pape (Romeoville), Christina Peck (Naperville), Jason Peck (Naperville), Jessica Pouranfar (Naperville), Jason Sheldon, and Marta Timmerman (Villa Park), with special appearances by Sara Blankestyn, Justin Cooper, Don Gingold, Ramona Ory, and Steve Zeidler.
