Luminario Ballet of Los Angeles bring their first full-length program Heroes, Sheroes, and Eros to The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts for two performances February 17th & 18th. Luminario founder and current artistic director Judith FLEX Helle parsed out some time from rehearsals to answer a few of my queries.

Dallas Black Dance Theatre is launching its 45th anniversary season back onstage with four world premieres, including a cultural, artistic exchange with musicians halfway around the world in North Macedonia. The company emerges from an all-virtual 44th season, providing its audience with both onstage and live streaming virtual options this season.

The Music Center has launched a new episodic series of online tutorial videos as part of The Music Center's Spotlight Academy to help aspiring young artists gain valuable insights on arts careers, workforce development skills and tips on how to apply for the organization's free, annual Music Center Spotlight arts training and scholarship program.

The Sixth Annual Dance Against Cancer was held on Monday, April 25, 2016.  The event had over 500 guests in attendance and raised more than $250,000 for the American Cancer Society, which will fund lifesaving cancer research and support patient and family service programs like Hope Lodge New York City.

Marcia Pendelton, founder and president of Walk Tall Girl Productions, celebrated the 15th anniversary of her company on Monday, September 28, 2015. Pendelton and her friends from the performing arts, fashion and media joined forces to celebrate her company's work to bring diverse audiences to the arts, on Broadway and beyond. Under the direction of Producing Artistic Director Bill Berry, The 5th Avenue Theatre presents a fresh and exciting new take on the tempestuous romance, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel. In its fourth major collaboration with Spectrum Dance Theater, The 5th is thrilled to welcome Tony Award-nominated choreographer Donald Byrd to the creative table, and a host of Seattle's theatrical royalty to its stage.

This exciting new staging will star the radiant Laura Griffith as Julie and 5th Avenue favorite Brandon O'Neill as Billy in his first Seattle production following his Broadway debut in Disney's Aladdin. The cast also includes local luminaries Anne Allgood, Eric Ankrim, Allen Fitzpatrick, Sean G. Griffin, Cynthia Jones, and Billie Wildrick, and marks The 5th Avenue debut of rising talent Joshua Downs.

Accomplished dancer Jamal Story, currently on tour with Cher and just off of Broadway's smash hit “Motown The Musical” has released a novel, “Toss in the Ether” with book-signings scheduled in cities along the icon's high-grossing “Dressed to Kill Tour.”
