Dance Against Cancer Raises $250,000 for American Cancer Society

The Sixth Annual Dance Against Cancer was held on Monday, April 25, 2016. The event had over 500 guests in attendance and raised more than $250,000 for the American Cancer Society, which will fund lifesaving cancer research and support patient and family service programs like Hope Lodge New York City.

Attendees included Diana DiMenna, Jody and John Arnhold, The Bommer Family, Stuart H. Coleman, Gerald Appelstein, Barbara Slifka, Jeffrey Campbell, Bart Oates, Kris Kim, Earl Mosley, Wendy Whelan, Christopher Wheeldon, Sascha Radetsky, Roberto Bolle, Maria Kowroski, Marcelo Gomes, Malia Mills, Valentino Carlotti, Dan Bittner, Joseph Doherty, Lynne Goldberg, Sarah Goocher, Brandon Gross, Julia Gruen, Lauren Josey, Karen Lacy, Phil Livingston, Maya Rosefsky, Erica Sabatini, Ellen Shadle and Robert Schulman.

The evening's performance, produced by Manhattan Youth Ballet's Erin Fogarty Bittner and New York City Ballet's Daniel Ulbricht, featured New York City Ballet's Robert Fairchild, Lauren Lovette, Tiler Peck, Amar Ramasar, Daniel Ulbricht; American Ballet Theatre's Stella Abrera, Blaine Hoven, Sarah Lane, Gillian Murphy; Alvin Ailey's Rachael McLaren and Marcus Jarrell Willis; Wendy Whelan; An American in Paris' Leanne Cope; Ian Spring; Brooklyn Mack; Jared Grimes; Brian Reeder; Bad Boys of Ballet; BalletX; Sumayah McRae; Jamal Story; and Manhattan Youth Ballet. The event showcased the works of George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Justin Peck and David Parsons as well as five world premieres created specifically for DAC.

Thomas Preti, Wolffer Estate Vineyards, Brooklyn Brewery, Gus-Grown Up Soda, Kessler Wines & Spirits, Reyka Vodka, Union Square Wine & Spirits, and Ed and Wendy Savodnik served as food and beverage sponsors, with additional food provided by FoodMatch, Inc., Fairway Market, Cakeology by Jamie, Gristedes, Jarets Stuffed Cupcakes, and Levain Bakery.
