Thou Hath No Fear to Shed All in Peregrine's FULL MONTY

With a book by Terrence McNally, music and lyrics by David Yazbek and now under the direction of (and also featuring choreography by) Terry Norgeot, The Full Monty has arrived at the Provincetown Theatre, in association with Peregrine Theatre Ensemble. Based on the cult-hit film of the same name, this ten-time Tony-Award nominee is one of the most unconventionally 'real' musicals you are ever bound to say; it is a surprisingly dramatic story trapped in the body of a semi-comedic musical, and the songs are an added bonus in bringing both its characters and the audience away from real-life issues by the comedic way in which they are dealt with.

Peregrine Theatre Ensemble's THE FULL MONTY Will Open July 18

Peregrine Theatre Ensemble begins performances of their summer musical The Full Monty with two special 'BEAR WEEK' preview's on July 15th and 16th followed by their OPENING NIGHT on July 18th with an optional pre-performance reception.

BWW Review: Swapping Hats and Inducing Hilarity with CDG's THE 39 STEPS

Loosely based on the 1915 novel written by John Buchan, later made into the 1935 movie directed by Alfred Hitchcock and gradually turned into a staged comical farce in 2005 by Patrick Barlow, The 39 Steps is something quite wonderful to see when brought about by a gifted director and a very talented cast of four that could bring about such a myriad of wacky characters. Director Scott Hamilton, as he states in his curtain speech, was certain that he wanted to lead this show towards its absolute comedic potential, and now writing in hindsight, it is clear that he manages to do just that give quite an optimistic start to what will be a rather epic new season at the Chatham Drama Guild. In relation to that and just to mention, the Guild has been offering wonderful performances since the time Hitchcock's movie was made, so this show is sure not to disappoint anybody who enjoys an innocent and rather traditional form of visual, laugh-loud-comedy.

BWW Reviews: Majesty At Its Peak at Harwich Junior Theatre

As part of a very impressive sixty-forth summer season, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon makes its Cape Cod premiere with Harwich Junior Theater's current production…and what a clever idea it was to bring such a heartwarming story to its stage! Written by Grace Lin, adapted by Jeannine Coulombe and directed by the magnificent Jane Staab (an HJT alumna herself), the one word that came to mind when thinking of how Where the Mountain Meets the Moon can be described is "majestic." Telling the story of a young girl who embarks on a quest to find the mystical, omniscient being who can reveal to her the secret of wealth, this Newbery-honored novel is transformed into something Staab has made beautiful to behold on stage.
