Alex grew up fishing with her father and now she's back to settle his estate, including the boat. Set on Cape Cod and unfolding on shore and off, this moving story is action-packed, witty, and full of surprises. Cape Rep Theatre is excited to present this brand new play by well-known Cape actor, Jade Schuyler. It was developed in Cape Rep's own Theatrelab and is our 22nd world premiere play.

Schuyler is an actor who has appeared at many theaters across the Cape, as well as in film including "Runner," which she also produced with her filmmaker husband, Paul. She most recently appeared at Cape Rep in Regular Singing and Peter and the Starcatcher. In addition to wearing the playwright's hat, she will be starring as Alex. Art Devine, Schuyler's playwriting teacher, directs after helming last season's successful new play, Boundless. The set design will be by Cape Rep newcomer, Ellen Rousseau, with costumes by Robin McLaughlin and lighting by Susan Nicholson, both fresh from our season opener, Merrily We Roll Along. Properties are by Connor Whiteley and Kate Gulden stage manages with Jennifer Dupre as her assistant.

The cast includes Lewis D. Wheeler, last seen in Cape Rep's production of Rough Crossing, as Pete, a tuna fisherman and first mate to Norm, Alex's father, played by Paul Schuyler (who appeared in last season's Boundless). Cape Rep Associate Artist Julie Allen Hamilton plays Norm's best friend, Deb. Noah Pelty (Merrily We Roll Along) plays the fisherman Sully, and Ryan Sheehan is making his Cape Rep debut as his first mate, Shawn. Anthony Teixeira (Merrily We Roll Along) plays Alex's co-worker, Richard. Maya Anastasio, also making her Cape Rep debut, plays Young Alex.

Cape Rep's 33rd season is made possible through the generous support of Cape Air and Zudy, our 2018 season sponsors. The Tuna Goddess is sponsored by AquaBar and RPM Carpets. Cape Rep Theatre: professional theater in an intimate setting.
