Dina Laura Biography

Dina Laura technically grew up in New Jersey, but her heart belongs in New York City with her Bronx-born parents. As an actor, Dina played dual roles in the world premiere of “From Silence” (starring Saturday Night Fever’s Karen Lynn Gorney) at Theater for the New City. She also appeared as Marmee, Aunt March and Abigail Alcott in Tier 5’s production of “meg, jo, beth, amy & louisa” in NYC as well as at the Capital Fringe in D.C. Other roles include Lucy in "You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown", Angel City Four in "City of Angels" and Dina in "School House Rock Live!" Dina also originated roles in "Eighty-Three Years", "Jacob and Sarah", "Somewhere in Texas" and "This Esther". Dina co-wrote her first full-length play, "on the rocks", with Mina Radhakrishnan. The play won the Best Audience award at the 2008 Downtown Urban Theater Festival at the Cherry Lane Studio Theater, and subsequently premiered on the West Coast at Studio250 @ Off-Market Theaters in San Francisco. Other plays written by Dina include "Alternate Side Street Parking" (HERE Arts Center, 2009 DUTF), and "Making Moves" (Theater for the New City, 2010 DUTF). Dina played dual roles in her latest play, Elephants and Other Worldly Dilemmas, which won FringeFav at the 2015 NY International Fringe Festival. dinalaura.com
