The fifth annual Broadway Stage Management Symposium (BSMS) will feature over thirty Broadway Stage Managers and Professionals in an incredible array of panels addressing important aspects of the art and craft of stage management. As the leaders of a theatrical company, stage managers are responsible for the mounting, maintenance and running of a show. They deal with a wide variety of issues and need to be well-versed in both production processes and people skills. The BSMS provides a unique forum to engage with top professionals on numerous topics important to stage managers at all levels.

Broadway Basics is recruiting Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors, as well as Undergrads, Grad students and recent grads for their Stage Management Workshop- a one day intensive on Sunday, October 13, 2014 from 10am-3pm for an in-depth day with two Professional Broadway Stage Managers. Upon attending the workshop, students will learn first-hand about what it takes on put on a Broadway show from pre-production through strike, networking and resume writing, and more! The enrollment deadline is September 27, 2014.

Following BroadwayWorld's Student Center Classroom two-part series 'Behind the Scenes at Wicked' with Marybeth Abel, the production stage manager wrote to BWW to tell us that it had drawn 'quite the following of enthusiastic kids'. In response, Abel and her colleague at Wicked Christy Ney will now be offering a Stage Management One Day Intensive today, August 4th, 2013.
