Studio Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for the DC premiere of Pass Over, playwright Antoinettea??Nwandu'sa??incisive examination of race and cyclical violence in America. The production runs March 4-April 5, 2020 and will be directed bya??Psalmayenea??24.a??Starring are Christopher Lovell as Moses and Jalen Gilbert as Kitch, two men stuck on a street corner, dreaming about what their lives will be when they get off the block. They are joined by Cary Donaldson as Mister and Ossifer, white men who disrupt their flow and bring the threat of violence.

BSC veterans Carson Elrod, Jeff McCarthy, and Debra Jo Rupp, all of whom are well known to area theatre goers are joined by Cary Donaldson and Ruth Pferdehirt. The ensemble is well balanced and show themselves to be exceptional character actors. Not every line lands solidly, but the skilled cast under the direction of Tracy Brigden provides an evening of entertainment that is fast paced, frivolous, and lots of fun.

Waterwell is presenting a new dual language (English/Farsi) version of Hamlet at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture (18 Bleecker Street). Starring Tony Award nominees Arian Moayed as Hamlet, Sherie Rene Scott as Gertrude, and Micah Stock as Horatio, with direction by Drama Desk nominee Tom Ridgely, Hamlet is currently in previews for a May 21st opening.
