Carly Robyn Green BIO

Hailed by AOL Music News as “the female Michael Buble,” BMG musical theatre lyricist, recording artist and songwriter, Carly Robyn Green has a career that spans the worlds of television, film, radio, and concert halls.

Together with longtime collaborator Frank Wildhorn and Tracy Miller, Green penned lyrics to the new musical adaptation of YOUR LIE IN APRIL, produced by Toho Co., Ltd. and Fuji Television. The team is currently writing: THE LIGHT IN FIRENZE (OD Company/Seoul); NO LONGER HUMAN (Ranspace/Shanghai); KUNG-FU MASTERS (Joyway/Beijing); and HOUDINI (Switzerland).

Carly’s original songwriting and recording collaborations with Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award winning co-writers/producers have been featured in over 175 television shows across 50+ networks, resulting in over 20 million YouTube views from placements including 30 Rock (NBC), Fashion Star (NBC), Dance Moms (Lifetime), Scandal (ABC), One Life to Live (ABC), Hung (HBO), The Young & The Restless (CBS), Real Housewives (BRAVO), Beauty & the Beast (The CW), Keeping Up with the Kardashians (E!), Degrassi (Teen Nick), The Real World (MTV), Say Yes to the Dress (TLC), The Real L Word (Showtime), and many shows and films on Hallmark, OWN, BET, HGTV, Telemundo, The Disney Channel, Fox, Style, VH1, and Oxygen. Her song “Ready to Love” was covered by Anri for the Japanese version of ABC program, Scandal, and Carly wrote the debut single by US band AIRSPOKEN, “Walls.”

As an artist in her own right, Carly has performed at venues including Madison Square Garden, The Staples Center, The Saban Theatre, The Pantages Theater, The El Rey, The Yost Theater, Citizens Bank Park, and The Tropicana Hotel & Casino, at Sundance Film Festival, and at jazz clubs like Herb Alpert’s Vibrato, Dave Koz’s Spaghettini, and Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles, and Feinstein’s/54 Below and B.B. Carly’s breakout EP – “What Love is All About” – is now available on iTunes. This EP reflects her early recording work with legends Gamble & Huff in her hometown of Philadelphia, and the title song is one of many collaborations between Carly and Wildhorn, whose Jekyll & Hyde and The Scarlett Pimpernel were some of Carly’s earliest musical influences as an artist and writer.

Collaborating together since they met through mutual colleagues in 2010, Carly and Wildhorn wrote together for Carly’s record and for projects by SABRINA WECKERLIN and KERRY ELLIS. Carly sang on Wildhorn’s recording projects for JULIA OAK and MEGUMI HAMADA, and she conceived the idea for HUBERMAN, a new theatrical work based on the life of Bronislaw Huberman, which Wildhorn is currently developing for Europe.

Also in the theatrical realm, Carly was a featured vocalist on the 2012 Jekyll & Hyde Concept Recording, she regularly collaborates with other Broadway composers like Amy Powers (SUNSET BOULEVARD, DR. ZHIVAGO), she was tapped by theatre composer Hollye Levin (A TASTE OF THINGS TO COME) to star in her forthcoming theatrical work, SYNCHRONICITY, and record its concept album, and she has performed at charity functions supporting The Actor’s Fund: Equity Fights AIDS, From Broadway with Love, and Broadway Sings for Pride.
