Last night, The Public Theater celebrated the 50th Anniversary of HAIR, the American tribal love-rock musical that originally opened at The Public Theater at 425 Lafayette Street. Its groundbreaking rock score paved the way for some of the greatest musicals of our time. Now, the 'Age of Aquarius' dawns again in this jubilant new production directed by Diane Paulus, with choreography by Karole Armitage. HAIR features a book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, and music by Galt MacDermot.

What sets it apart from these descendants is the crucial messages of social, cultural and sexual revolution which given the current climate seems especially relevant with war, racism and the raging discussions over LGBT issues still very much in our daily news.

It was announced today that four-time Tony Award nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning actress Tovah Feldshuh will return to host the seventh annual Broadway Beauty Pageant. Celebrity judges have also been announced. Andrea Martin (Pippin), Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), and Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar) have been tapped to judge the event which will take place today evening, May 20th, at 8:00p.m., at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place). Lisa Lambert, the Tony Award-winning lyricist of The Drowsy Chaperone, will write the opening number. The popular event is the annual benefit of New York's Ali Forney Center.

Keenan-Bolger writes: 'I brought my camera along whenever I was hanging out with my friends this summer.
