Secret Theatre Musicals to Present HAIR, Begin. 1/22

By:

Hair is the classic rock musical that set the standard for the many productions that followed and its influences can be seen in todays 'jukebox musicals'. What sets it apart from these descendants is the crucial messages of social, cultural and sexual revolution which given the current climate seems especially relevant with war, racism and the raging discussions over LGBT issues still very much in our daily news.

Secret Theatre Musicals production of Hair is directed by Richard Mazda [Oliver! Richard III, Pirate Pete] and is musically directed by 2009's Broadway cast member, Anthony Hollock [Hair, Broadway/West End] and Choreographed by Mary Lauren [Fabulous! The Queen of Musicals, Honestly Abe] with lighting by Dan Jobbins [Urinetown, Oliver -Secret Theatre], scenic design by John LaVigne. David Greenfield is our production Stage Manager.

Performances are from Jan 22 to February 1st in a limited 2-week run at The Secret Theatre, which has garnered praise for its edgy approach to musicals including the wildly successful steampunk influenced Oliver! [2013], Urinetown [2012] and Parade [2011].
