New York, NY — Rip Jabari You Would’ve Loved the Apple Dance, a bold and original sci-fi comedy play written by and starring Arianna Wellmoney, will make its highly anticipated New York premiere this June as part of the Factor Series at The Chain Theatre, and featured in the Audacious Owl Theatre Festival. This festival, founded by Bradly Valenzuela, champions imaginative and daring new work from today’s emerging theatrical voices. Performance Dates: In this heartfelt and futuristic tale, two inseparable best friends and roommates, Chiara and Elijah, unexpectedly win a contest hosted by a space company. Their prize? The chance to interact with a prototype AI robot designed to replicate their late best friend, Jabari. What begins as a surreal opportunity turns into a deeply emotional exploration of grief, memory, and the strange comfort—and discomfort—of technology that keeps the dead eerily close to the living. Mixing laugh-out-loud absurdity with sincere emotional depth, Rip Jabari is a story about friendship, loss, and the impossible task of letting go. CAST: Directed by: Bradly Valenzuela This production marks the third creative collaboration between Wellmoney and director Bradly Valenzuela, following their work together on He’s Different and the I'm sorry, I can't make it. My uncle's hamster has passed and I am reading the eulogy at the funeral. It’s also the third time Wellmoney and actor Kiamba Doyling have teamed up onstage, continuing a partnership rooted in trust, playfulness, and deep creative chemistry. Rounding out the trio is Christian Prins Coen, whose performance as Elijah brings humor, warmth, and raw vulnerability to the stage. Their sharp timing and heartfelt delivery offer the perfect counterbalance to the surreal premise, grounding the play’s science fiction elements in the very real, very human emotions that make this story resonate. Whether you're drawn to speculative fiction, character-driven storytelling, or simply love a narrative that makes you laugh through your tears, Rip Jabari You Would’ve Loved the Apple Dance is an unforgettable theatrical experience you won’t want to miss.
