PERIMENOPARTY at The barrow group

Blending Spanglish, clown, physical theatre, improvisation, audiovisuals, music, puppetry, and stand-up, the piece transforms perimenopause—a socially silenced transition—into a theatrical experience that is both hilarious and political.

Structured through three clown states (puberty, fertility, and perimenopause), it explores the pressures of anti-ageing culture, wellness trends, and the medicalization that shape the lives of women over 40.

During June 2026, Perimenoparty was presented throughout the Hollywood Fringe Festival in Los Angeles, where it was performed over the course of a month in a small-format version. That run served as a creative laboratory, allowing the piece to be tested, refined, and reshaped through direct interaction with live audiences.

The project is now back in development at The Barrow Group in New York, where it is being expanded into a full-scale theatrical production ahead of its New York premiere this October. A recording of the work-in-progress performance on July 30 will be made exclusively for European production companies that have expressed interest in acquiring and producing the show. Following its New York premiere, Perimenoparty is expected to begin its international journey, including a touring version in Spain.
