Critically-acclaimed Sacramento songstress Sea of Bees (AKA Julie Ann Baenziger), whose debut album "Songs for the Ravens" made NPR's Top 10 Albums of 2010 list, will perform at Spike Hill on Friday, April 22nd at 11:00 PM. LA Weekly describes "Songs for Ravens" as "folky in some places, gauzy and ambient in others and ... beautiful throughout, and a potent reminder that emotional virtue is an artist's most precious commodity."
The Guardian sums up the singer-songwriter's performance style: "Armed with only a guitar and a backing singer but able to conjure instantly memorable tunes from an echoey twang and a couple of chords, watching the denim-jacketed, bowl-haired performer is like riding an emotional rollercoaster." Jump on the ride when it stops at Spike Hill on Earth Day. Admission is free.
