ReGroup Presents THUNDER ROCK 3/5

By:

Following their concert readings of Johnny Johnson, the ReGroup Theatre Company will present the next in their series of "lost" Group Theatre Plays, THUNDER ROCK on March 5th.

About the show: "This haunting play by Robert Ardrey tells of Charleston, a reporter who has grown weary of the world and has resigned himself to a world of his own by becoming a lighthouse keeper and the sole resident of Thunder Rock. Believing that "Mankind has one future - in the past," Charleston becomes obsessed with the passengers of a ship that crashed on the island 90 years prior. He begins to imagine them in their simplistic world, until they take control and teach him about life.

Thunder Rock will be presented as a 'script in hand' performance, one night only at The 47th Street Theatre, 304 W 47th St at 7 PM, Monday, March 5th. Tickets are free, but reservations are required. To RSVP, please email RSVP@regrouptheatre.org or call (212) 340-1054. Donations are greatly appreciated.

The cast is lead by Allie Mulholland, Pete McElligott, Maurya Scanlon, Emily Ciotti, Shelley Valfer, Rachel Casparian, Timothy Weinert, Kate Warren, Mateo Prendergast, Andrew Criss and Hamish Allan-Headly.

Founded in 2010, the ReGroup aims to use the original Group Theatre as a model to foster a meaningful Theatre. The ReGroup has previously presented The Group Theatre plays Success Story and Gentlewoman by John Howard Lawson, Big Night by Dawn Powell, 1931- by Claire and Paul Sifton, Paradise Lost by Clifford Odets (featuring guest actress Angelica Page), Men in White by Sidney Kingsley, The House of Connelly by Paul Green and Johnny Johnson by Mr. Green and Kurt Weill and directed by Estelle Parsons. They also published 3 of the lost Group plays for the first time in over 75 years, which can be purchased on their website or at bookstores. Publication of Thunder Rock & Casey Jones by Mr. Ardrey and Weep for the Virgins by Nellise Child is set for this year.
