"Last Train to Nibroc" tells the story of two young people who meet by chance on a cross-country east bound train that is carrying the bodies of Nathaneal West and F. Scott Fitzgerald. May wants to be a missionary. Raleigh has been given a medical discharge by the army and is heading to New York to become a writer. The two discover they are from neighboring Appalachian towns. They meet again a year and a half later at the Nibroc festival, when Raleigh confronts May about her prejudices against her family. The next spring, they meet once again, this time at May's home where they're finally able to resolve their differences. Last Train to Nibroc was nominated for NY Drama League Best Play. The play will be performed on the porch at duCret School of the Arts unless it rain. It will then be performed in the duCret auditorium.
