Nutty 50s nostalgia, elegant bomb shelter tours, variety shows and campy, early TV are on the menu for Interact Theater when it presents its summer production, Hot Dog Daze at the Lab Theater July 12-27.Hot Dog Daze comes to you courtesy of Interact's 40+ actors with and without disabilities. It is co-directed by James Lekatz and Heather Bunch, with original music by award-winning composer Aaron Gabriel, combined with choreography by Kymani Kahlil. Special guests include the side-splitting emcees, Shanan Custer (Brave New Workshop veteran) and Kory LaQuess Pullam (Underdog Theaters Artistic Director). Plus, a Pop-Up Shop at every show will feature art and gifts from 70 Interact Visual Artists!Best of all? The original story lines and songs of Hot Dog Daze were created by Interact cast members! Both are expertly crafted into what Director Lekatz calls your classic, breezy summer musical that also happens to spoof the telethons and variety talent shows of an age long gone that also asks, Were those good ol days really that good?!
