Thirty-something Isabel “Izzy” Grossman spends her time going from her tiny, solitary West Side apartment to her Bubbie’s apartment on the Lower East Side. In between, Izzy is building a glowing reputation at the swank bookstore where she works and pining for Tyler, a handsome local author. When Izzy’s irascible Bubbie brings in Hannah the matchmaker, the emancipated modern young woman recoils from such an outdated way of dating – but Hannah the yenta still has a trick or two left with her old world ways. Enter Sam, the young pickle merchant. When neither pickle man nor writer us what Izzy thought he would be, her initial reluctance gives way to a blossoming romance.
