The REP Presents A Wrinkle In Time , 10/6-11/6

Orlando Repertory Theatre (The REP), along with presenting partner, Universal Orlando Foundation and supporting partner Mears Motor Transportation, present the Newbery Medal winning classic, A Wrinkle In Time this fall. This production runs October 6 to November 6, 2011 with public performances on Saturdays at 12pm and 4pm and Sundays at 2pm.

Tony Award-winning actress, singer, and songwriter Idina Menzel, star of Broadway's Wicked and the original stage production of Rent, will open the 2011-12 Knight Masterworks Season Pops Series at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on December 3, 2011 at 8 p.m. in the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF (OST) announced that Rus Blackwell, Mark Ferrara, Anne Hering and Suzanne O'Donnell will duke it out this fall in GOD OF CARNAGE, playing October 12 through November 13, 2011 at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center. Yasmina Reza's 2009 Tony Award-winning play, under the direction of Mark Routhier, pits two high-strung couples against each other in a 90-minute brawl hailed as a 'four-way prize fight' by The New York Times.

Louis Armstrong comes back to life at the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre where Dennis Neal stars in the world premiere of Terry Teachout's Satchmo at the Waldorf, a one-man play about the most beloved jazzman of all time. Set at New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel, where Louis 'Satchmo' Armstrong performed in public for the last time before his death in 1971, Satchmo at the Waldorf is a theatrical tour de force, a play in which the same actor portrays Armstrong and Joe Glaser, the trumpeter's controversial manager. Inspired by their actual words, the play takes a searching look at the complex relationship between the genius from New Orleans who turned jazz into a swinging art form and the hard-nosed, tough-talking ex-gangster from Chicago who made him an international icon.
