This play reading series at Lynn is being expanded into a much more ambitious program, where actual workshops will be produced that give playwrights the chance to bring in a new play and work with a cast and a director for six days - rehearsing, re-writing, rehearsing, rewriting. Then, at the end of the six days, they will present their new, polished, reworked play to the public, in performance.

Florida Grand Opera's 72nd season is marked by the return of company favorites. The company's season opener is none other than Puccini's internationally beloved La boheme, taking place at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County from tonight, November 17, 2012 to December 2, 2012 and at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale on December 6, 2012 and December 8, 2012.

Palm Beach Dramaworks, which mounted its first productions of works by Edward Albee in 2002, renews its exploration of his remarkable career with two important presentations. A Delicate Balance, the first of his three Pulitzer Prize-winning plays, opens on December 7 and runs through January 6. Following that, on January 8, will be the Southeastern premiere of The Stages of Edward Albee, the acclaimed new documentary that examines the playwright's life and work.

STOMP, the international sensation, is making its triumphant return to The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County. STOMP is part of the Broadway in Miami 2012-2013 subscription season presented by Bank of America. The return of the percussive hit also brings some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured and the addition of two new full-scale routines, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans.

The School of Theatre at Florida State carries on its mission to engage the Tallahassee community with the Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) presentation of Kevin Dyer's The Monster Under the Bed, running November 15-18, 2012. TYA is an annual initiative of the FSU School of Theatre that concentrates on the theatrical "audiences of tomorrow" - our youth. Monster was the play chosen this season to engage students and families alike with its fun-filled, chaotic sense of adventure and heartfelt charm.

The beloved family musical The Music Man performs November 27 through December 16 and this classic American musical takes audiences on a toe-tapping adventure with fast-talking salesman Professor Harold Hill, who convinces the townspeople of River City, Iowa that they need a band, instruments and uniforms. His plans to skip town with their money come to a crashing halt when he falls in love and has to face the music.

Palm Beach Dramaworks, West Palm Beach's multi-award winning professional theatre (201 Clematis Street), has announced the premiere of an exciting new venture, the Musical Theatre Masters Series. Modeled after PBD's very popular Master Playwrights Series, the new series will kick off on January 11 at 8pm, with a concert of Camelot, the final Broadway musical from the team of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. The remaining performances are January 12 (2pm and 8pm), and January 13 (2pm). The series will be directed by Clive Cholerton, former artistic director of the Caldwell Theatre Company in Boca Raton. Musical director for Camelot is Caryl Fantel. All tickets are $35.00. Tickets go on sale on November 14.

Florida Grand Opera Restructures Board & Welcomes New Board Members

In order to create a more streamlined and effective composition, Florida Grand Opera has restructured its Board of Directors. Changes were voted into effect during a board meeting on Sept. 18, 2012, which also hosted the scheduled elections, welcoming new members.
