In 1936 Carl Von Ossietzky won the Nobel Peace Prize from within a concentration camp in Germany...and you've probably never heard his name. Ossietzky A Peace Play is the story of how Ossietzky went from struggling writer to Nobel Laureate, what it cost him, and why he wasnt convinced he deserved the award. From fighting Russians during WWI, to fighting Hitler and his rise to power, Ossietzky was one of the last stalwarts of Pacifism in a world more and more inclined to war. He fought his battles at his desk, at night, with coffee and cigarettes. In todays political climate, Carl Von Ossietzky stands as a testament to the importance of freedom of the press, fighting for what you believe in, and courage in the face of overwhelming odds.
