Walden Theatre will host it's first annual Family Picnic THIS Friday, July 17 from 5:00-9:00pm. The evening will include a Silent Auction (items include: Willie Nelson autographed guitar, photos signed by Neko Case and Zooey Deschanel, a Richard Petty Ride-along, Actors Theatre Season Tickets, Holiday World passes, handbags, gift certificates, and much more!), Inflatable Entertainment for all ages, Games of Chance, a Cakewalk, Arts & Crafts, and Face Painting.

Four Walden Theatre Alumni are returning this summer to produce a six week long summer stock festival, consisting of three shows: Art, by Tony Award winning playwright Yasmina Reza, Betrayal by Harold Pinter and The Pavilion, by Craig Wright. The plays will be directed by Lucas Adams, Sharon Kinnison, and Mark Sawyer-Daily respectively.

Walden Theatre Announces Summer Academy June And August Performances Of An Original Play

Walden Theatre's three-week Summer Academy-6 different casts of twenty-six students each, ages 8-14-will present this original play June through August! The students have worked together with Walden instructors to produce a full-length production, complete with sets and costumes. Written by Hank Willenbrink, Grimm Tales is an original work based on the stories of the famous brothers-when a summer storm sends kids playing in Cherokee Park for cover, they decide to pass the time by telling stories from the Brother's Grimm. What they don't realize is that one of the kids has a real ghost story of their own pulled straight from Louisville Folklore. All performances will be held at Walden Theatre, 1123 Payne Street.

Theater at Lime today released information about its 2009 season, stocked full of music, Shakespeare, juggling and STONEWALL COUNTRY! Executive Director Kim Renz says this should be a really successful year for the 26-year-old arts presenting organization. 'Lexington will be an exciting place this summer, thanks in no small part to the return of Lime Kiln's signature piece, Stonewall Country, on July 10th through 12th. But I hope area residents and visitors will look over the whole season when they want something to do.'
