Modern Butchood at Wilbury Theatre Group

Modern Butchood is a one-woman play making its East Coast premiere at the Providence Fringe Festival. Written and performed by Molly Gloeckner and directed by Charles Towle, this black comedy follows Butch, the sardonic girlfriend of a TikTok star, as she navigates the complexities of queer identity and seeks to reclaim her individuality. The show, which previously earned accolades at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, explores themes of lust, guilt, and self-discovery with a sharp sense of humor. Through Butch's journey, Gloeckner presents an unapologetically nuanced portrayal of contemporary queer life.
