Assassins at The Actors Company — The Other Space

In observance of the nation's semiquincentennial, Last to Leave Theater Company presents Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Assassins — a school fair trapped in American limbo. This fair is offered as an exercise in national rehabilitation.

Be witness to nine disillusioned Americans forced to recount and reckon with their place in the national story. Sit inside the history lesson, beneath presidential portraits and among the desks, displays and chalkboards. Fifty seats. No stage.

The fair opens. History takes control. The lesson does not go as intended.

Content advisory: Assassins depicts nine attempts on the lives of American presidents. The production contains simulated gunfire, prop firearms, depictions of suicide, and racist and antisemitic language spoken by historical figures. Performers work in close proximity to the audience throughout.
