Much Ado About Nothing at ARTS Blackbox Theatre

Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi Brings Shakespeares Much Ado About Nothing To Life!

SIMI VALLEY, CA — Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi is bringing one of William Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies to the stage with its upcoming production of Much Ado About Nothing, presented by ARTS Literature in Action Unbound. Set against the vibrant atmosphere of 1920s New Orleans during Mardi Gras, this reimagining of Shakespeare’s classic promises romance, mistaken identities, lively rivalries, and plenty of comedic mischief.

Running November 13–22, 2026, at ARTS Blackbox Theatre, located at 2956 School Street in Simi Valley, Much Ado About Nothing transports audiences to a world of jazz-age glamour, festive celebrations, and complicated love stories. At the heart of the production are Beatrice and Benedick, two sharp-witted characters whose constant banter and resistance to romance become the center of a playful battle of hearts and egos. Meanwhile, schemes, misunderstandings, and unexpected twists threaten to turn celebration into chaos.

Beyond the stage, the production highlights the mission of ARTS Literature in Action, a free theatre education program offered by Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi. The program gives young people the opportunity to explore literature through performance, develop acting skills, collaborate with fellow artists, and experience the process of bringing a live production to the community.

As a free educational opportunity, Literature in Action helps make theatre accessible to young people in the Ventura County community. It offers aspiring performers a place to learn, take creative risks, work alongside their peers, and share their accomplishments with local audiences.

With Much Ado About Nothing, LIA Unbound brings a fresh perspective to a centuries-old story, demonstrating how classic literature can be reimagined for new generations. The production combines Shakespeare’s timeless humor and themes of love, loyalty, deception, and forgiveness with the lively atmosphere of 1920s New Orleans.

Actors Repertory Theatre of Simi invites the community to support these young artists and experience the excitement of live theatre this November.
