Dybbuk Bat Mitzvah at Goldrich Cultural Center

A staged reading of the play by Becca Schlossberg, a celebration of faith, friendship, and the experiences of young women that riffs on ancient Jewish folklore while comically exploring the terrors and triumphs of womanhood. Set in 1999 amid Y2K fears, Rachel and her friends prepare to celebrate her Bat Mitzvah when an odd and conservative boy from her temple takes an interest in her, and a tragedy links the two together. The cast includes Ali Stoner, Rory Kulz, Lauren Schaffel, Kaitlyn Tanimoto, and Adam Tsekman, with Omari Williams reading stage directions. The play is directed by Illana Stein.
