A wickedly funny and deeply personal solo performance that explores one woman’s complicated relationship with money, and the devastating history that has shaped it.
LOS ANGELES, CA — September 2026 — Award-winning playwright and performer France-Luce Benson brings her solo performance Worthy to Los Angeles as part of the 2nd Annual Un-Erasable Solo Festival, with performances on Saturday, September 12 at 6:00 PM; Saturday, September 19 at 7:20 PM; and Friday, September 25 at 9:40 PM at the Will Agee Theatre.
The third and final installment of Benson's Haitian Revolution Trilogy, Worthy is a powerful personal, political, and financial reckoning that asks, “What is the true cost of freedom?”
In Worthy, Benson finds hidden connections between the “double debt” Haiti was forced to pay to France as a consequence Haiti’s hard won liberation from colonial rule, and the trauma that shaped her own complicated relationship with money. Through personal storytelling, history, music, and dance, Worthy transforms the story of Haiti's economic exploitation into an intimate investigation, unpacking the emotional baggage we attach to what we earn, owe, and deserve.
