An East Indian gets lost on his first day in New York as two teenage punks find him waiting at a lonely bus stop. He cannot understand English, and the boys have some fun with him - at least it starts out as fun. But little by little, as the minutes go by and the bus doesn't come, they get bored; then annoyed, then vicious.

The play premiered in 1966 at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut. In 1968 it then transferred to The Astor Place Theatre in New York City. The play was the start of an amazing career for Al Pacino. He went on to win an Obie Award for his work in the role of Murph for The Indian Wants The Bronx.
