The company of professional performers, who present concert-staged readings of seldom seen musicals, has been a resident company at the Alex Theatre in Glendale for many years and at Pasadena Playhouse before that. This marks the inaugural season for this highly acclaimed and award-winning group in Los Angeles' Westside. Take equal parts The Bad Seed, Gypsy, All About Eve and Mame, add a dash of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, and you've got the hilarious cocktail that is RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL. RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL is the winner of the New York Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Musical and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics. Starring are MTG members Pamela Hamill, Shauna Markey, Todd Nielsen and Lowe Taylor with guest artists Eileen Bowman and Brennley Brown. RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by Joel Paley and a score by Marvin Laird, will be directed by Rick Sparks, with musical direction by Greg Nabours, choreography by Joseph Corella and is under the production supervision of Jill Marie Burke.
