As part of the ninth edition of the COIL festival, Irish Arts Center in association with Baryshnikov Arts Center presents Have I No Mouth from the Dublin-based theater company Brokentalkers. In Have I No Mouth, Brokentalkers company director Feidlim Cannon and his real-life mother, Ann Cannon, take a brave, unflinching look at their past, in an attempt to piece together the truth in the aftermath of a family tragedy, the 2001 death of Cannon's father, which could have been prevented.

SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone's favorite ogre to dazzling new life on the stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly swamp dwelling ogre - not a handsome prince - goes on a life-changing adventure and shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won't shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real yet, unlikely, hero. Luckily, there's one on hand…and his name is Shrek.

Irving Berlin's White Christmas is just the thing to get you into the holiday spirit. Besides a heartfelt story, the beautiful John W. Engeman Theatre of Northport also went all out for an early kickoff to the holiday season. Donning their lobby with Christmas decorations and playing classic Christmas carols over the loud speaker as you entered the theater, you knew you right away you were in for a wonderful holiday treat.

Benefits by Bay Street presented TYPHOON RELIEF FOR THE PHILIPPINES night of bands on Sunday, November 24. The lineup of bands included LOLA, THE VANDETTAS, NANCY ATLAS, INDA EATON, HOODOO LOUNGERS, GENE CASEY, RICK DAVIES, ESCOLA de SAMBA BOOM and JOE DELIA and the THIEVES. The night of fundraising included a silent auction and was co-hosted by Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman and Bonnie Grice for WPPB. All ticket proceeds will be distributed to the Red Cross to aid in helping the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines. BroadwayWorld has photos from the concert below!

Bay Street Theatre announces TYPHOON RELIEF FOR THE PHILIPPINES, a fundraising night of bands tonight, November 24 beginning at 7 pm. Suggested donation $25, though any and all amounts are appreciated. All ticket proceeds will be distributed to the Red Cross to aid in helping the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines. Suffolk County Legislator Jay Schneiderman and WPPB radio host Bonnie Grice will co-host the evening. WPPB will broadcast with a live simulcast with a phone bank open for donations.

As part of its School Day Performances Series, the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center presents Slam Poetry by the Mayhem Poets, a trio of "spoken word" poets, on Tuesday, December 10 at 10am & 12:30pm and on Wednesday, December 11 at 10am.
