BWW Blog: 'Another Suitcase' by Jeffrey Sanzel, Executive Artistic Director, Theatre Three
by Guest Blogger: Jeffrey Sanzel - December 24, 2013
'God bless us-everyone.' So what happens now? Or-rather-next? Since we've been at Christmas Carol for so long, there is almost always a discussion at some point about what happens after the story. So-Scrooge 'became as a good a man ...' Does he stay that way? What happens to Tiny Tim? We know he does 'NOT'(emphasis Mr. Dickens) die. What about Fred? The rest of the Cratchits. And how do their stories relate? Do they?

BWW Blog: 'Milestones and Millstones' by Jeffrey Sanzel, Executive Artistic Director, Theatre Three
by Guest Blogger: Jeffrey Sanzel - December 17, 2013
Sunday, December 15th, at 7:00 p.m. A night that Doug Quattrock will remember for the rest of his career. This night marks his 500th performance in Theatre Three's production of A Christmas Carol. This represents ten years of work, spread out over twenty-five years. It is hours upon hours of rehearsals, long days with double (and, at one time, even triple) performances. It is the lifting of Tiny's of varying shapes, sizes, and, most importantly weights (and don't underestimate the power of the center of gravity).
BRIC to Present WOW, 1/23-2/1
by BWW News Desk - December 17, 2013
BRIC continues its inaugural season in the newly opened BRIC Arts | Media House (BRIC House), the organization's new 40,000-square-foot multi-disciplinary facility in Downtown Brooklyn, and presents work-in-progress performances of WOW, an experimental opera by Fort Greene residents Joe Diebes, Christian Hawkey and David Levine developed, in part, during a BRIC House Fireworks Residency. All three artists are known for trying to radically rethink or reinvent their respective backgrounds: musical composition (Diebes), poetry (Hawkey), and theater (Levine). And although they have, in the past, collaborated in pairs, the only form in which all three could share their drive for reinvention was, perhaps, the oldest multimedia spectacle of them all: opera. And, for their subject? The story of Milli Vanilli, a manufactured German pop duo whose spectacular rise and fall has become an American legend.

BWW Blog: No Good Deed Goes Unpunished by Jeffrey Sanzel, Executive Artistic Director, Theatre Three

In all things, we try to look for lessons and reasons. Things to take away from an experience. Each event hopefully guides us to new insights and introspections, gives us fodder for future choices and perspectives. I guess.
