Coterie Theatre Showcases Teen Playwrights in Festival, 4/28 & 4/29

World premiere readings from Kansas City's teen playwrights will be showcased during the Annual Young Playwrights' Festival at 7 p.m. April 28 and 29, and at 10 a.m. April 29 at the Coterie Theatre, level 1, Crown Center Shops. Professional actors, directors and designers work to present a collection of ten staged readings, plays and monologues from teen members of the Coterie's Young Playwrights' Roundtable.

'Adventures with Clifford The Big Red DogTM,' inspired by Scholastic Entertainment's top-rated PBS KIDS television show, opens in the Crown Center Shops Showplace on May 29, and will be here through September 6. There is no admission fee.

Eric Rosen and Matt Sax, creators of the Rep's hip hop sensation Clay, are set to open their new musical, Venice, April 11-May 9 at Copaken Stage. Rosen, who is artistic director of Kansas City Rep, will direct. Choreography is by John Carrafa (Tony Award nominations for Urinetown and Into the Woods) and Tanisha Scott (video choreography for Sean Paul, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Rihanna and many additional recording artists).

Zina Camblin's And Her Hair Went With Her came out of the National New Play Network (NNPN), having received productions at Phoenix Theatre, New Jersey Repertory Company and Fountain Theatre (all NNPN theatres) and was read at the Unicorn in 2008.
