“…and then it all went quiet for a bit…”
It’s the 15th of August, 1998. It’s a Saturday on Lower Market Street and it’s just gone 17 seconds past noon. In 43 seconds, Lizzy, Conor and Mari’s lives will change forever.
Returning after a critically acclaimed Edinburgh run, Minute After Midday is a haunting memory play which looks back at the terror and tragedy of the day of the Omagh bombing.
Minute After Midday sees three characters tell their individual stories of that tragic day through beautifully interwoven monologues. Each of them has been caught up in the tragedy and none of their lives will ever be the same.
Written by Ross Dungan, in its debut run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2011, the play won a highly prestigious Scotsman Fringe First Award for innovation in new writing.
“tells us almost all we need to know about the horror, pity and outrage of war” - the Scotsman
