Northern Star Melanie C will return to headline at The Olympia Theatre on Monday, 5th March 2012. Tickets priced from €21.90 including booking fee are on sale from Friday 23rd December 2011.

With the release of her fifth album ‘The Sea’, Melanie C will return to perform in Ireland. It has been four years since her last music release, and for The Sea she collaborated with writers and producers from past work – Adam Argyle, Richard Stannard, Greg Hatwell and Peter-John Vettese; she also brought new yet highly-regarded artists into the project to bring different ideas and sounds. Producer Andy Chatterley and the Cutfather team each encouraged a new sound of sweeping orchestral arrangements, layered harmonies and unambiguous high quality pop, while maintaining the style Melanie had developed over the previous four albums.

Think About It is the first single to be taken from the new album; an infectious beat-driven track, its uplifting melody and supporting lyrics to ‘do what you want to’ provide a positive and colourful introduction to Melanie’s new era. Its accompanying video compliments this with visual bursts of inspiration on a backdrop canvas, as she delivers a captivating performance.

Melanie’s first solo venture was featuring on the hit single When You’re Gone with Bryan Adams which was incredibly successful across Europe, it entered the UK charts at Number 3 and gave Melanie aspirations for more solo projects. As a solo artist, Melanie went on to release four solo albums - Northern Star (1999) and Reason (2003) were released on Virgin Records and after setting up her own label, Red Girl Records, in 2004, she released Beautiful Intentions (2005) and This Time (2007) as an independent. She has achieved over 3 million album sales, 2 Number 1 singles, 6 Top 10 singles and over 200 combined weeks on the UK chart.
