‘It cements Irish National Youth Ballet Ireland’s standing as one of the most solid ballet training grounds in the country.’ – The Irish Times

Symphony No.10
When siblings Peter and Claire are scolded by their mother for fighting over a video game they are given a fairytale book to keep them occupied. They laugh at their mother for thinking a book will entertain them more than a games console but have no choice but to go along with her idea. As Peter and Claire reluctantly open the book the characters in the story come to life and they tell the siblings the story of their land.

Living in close proximity, the Villagers and Mythical woodland creatures are struggling to share their surroundings in peace. The Villagers believe the woodland creatures are evil spirits that are trying to overtake their village and the woodland creatures believe the humans are full of greed and expect to rule the whole land.

Peter and Claire continue to turn the pages of the book to follow the story. As relationships between the humans and the mythical creature’s heads towards a dangerous climax the pages in the book go blank. Peter and Claire must now put their own differences aside and work together to save the characters in the book and create a peaceful end to the story.

Schubert Impromptu
Originally choreographed by Charles Czarny for the Irish National Ballet this piece is a beautifully crafted work for four girls and their unusual partners…

Moving On
Room to move is a lyrical ballet to Janacek’s beautiful music. It explores a young man facing growing up, moving on to new horizons and experiences, while leaving behind what’s familiar, and all the while, his family are his rock.

The Seven Sisters
A mythical ballet set in ancient Greece, ‘The Seven Sisters’ plays out a story of the intermingling of gods and men, demi-gods, constellations and nymphs. During a seasonal visit to the Aegean Sea, two of the sisters are captured by mortals and prevented from returning to their celestial home. The god Pan intervenes and, together with the Dryads and Naiads, attempts to restore heavenly order. Classical ballet with a classical theme and a twist of Greek and Nordic mythology, with original choreography set to the stunningly beautiful Tchaikovsky score, ‘Souvenir de Florence’.
