BREAKDOWN
Therese Stockman – mid-40’s, female. Any ethnicity. A doctor who is guided by her mission to serve others. This is her Achilles’ heel as well as her strength. She strives to do what's right in a world full of barriers.
Peter Stockman – late 40’s, male. Any ethnicity. Therese’s brother, the mayor. He is a savvy politician who is used to getting what he wants. He's not used to listening when others speak, particularly women.
Petra Stockman – early to mid-20’s, female. Any ethnicity. Therese’s daughter, a clerk at The Messenger – the town newspaper. She has a quiet strength, watching every move everybody makes and listening to every word they say.
Kristine Hovstad – mid-30’s, female. Any ethnicity. Editor of The Messenger. She's smart, ambitious and ready to do what it takes to succeed. She is practical and observant – she sees it all and can adjust her plan without missing a beat.
Einar Billing – late 20’s, male. Any ethnicity. Associate editor of The Messenger. He's very well read and always up for a fiery discussion. He loves Petra and his job. He struggles to reconcile his personal and professional loyalties.
Henrik Abelman – 30’s-40’s, male. Any ethnicity. Typesetter at The Messenger. He's a very hard worker. He and his family live paycheck-to-paycheck and their wellbeing is up to him. It’s a burden he bears happily, but that doesn’t make it any less of a burden.
