To optimize the best sound and video possible we encourage you to turn off any ambient noise (air conditioner/tv/radio) and please select a well lit area with minimal backlighting for your video.

Please also slate your name and height before you begin your audition.

Private Gomer Jones is a WWI story about a group of Welsh soldiers. Though all of the characters are white, and most of them men, the cast of Private Gomer will be diverse - not just in terms of ethnicity, but gender identity, age, size, able-bodiedness, and Hearing ability.

GOMER JONES : Male, 18+ to play 16. – Welsh sniper with recent profound hearing loss. Since he speaks and has learned to read lips, Gomer fakes his way past the recruiters and into the war. Impatient. Gifted sharp shooter. Tenor. Deaf or Hard of Hearing actors who sing are encouraged to submit. Any ethnicity.


GWENOLYN/EVANS/AS CAST : Female, 20. GWENOLYN trains nurses in Wales. EVANS is a Welsh Private in the 11th Battalion. Alto. Any ethnicity.


JACK KING/AS CAST : Male, 18+ to play 19. – Welsh Private in the 11th Battalion. Rambunctious. Loyal. A real son-of-a-bitchin’ good time. Voice type flexible. Any ethnicity. Female Identifying and Non-Binary actors encouraged to submit.


EDMUND/AS CAST : Male, 20. A strapping Welsh soldier. Baritone with the high stuff. Any ethnicity.
