The Truf presents FRACTURED FAIRY TALES, an evening of one-acts retelling children's stories for grown-up audiences, featuring LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD by Billy Aronson, along with original commissions FOREVER NEVERLAND by Mike Swift, and WHEN SHE FALLS by Sarah Gallina.

MOTHER/MOM: (Female, late 20s - 60, open ethnicity). [MOTHER]: Classic 50’s TV mom. Pearls, sweater, constantly cheerful and upbeat. A plus if has experience with physical comedy and/or mime training. [MOM]: Caring, overprotective, artistic interests but more logically minded, independent, playfully banters with DAD
HUNTER/DAD/BILLY: (Male, mid 20s-40s, open ethnicity). [HUNTER]: A man’s man. Works hard all day long. No one else knows what it’s like to work really hard for your family. No one. Must have great comedic chops, a strong voice and masculine presence. A plus if has experience with physical comedy and/or mime training. [DAD]: Imaginative, boisterous, more blue-collar. [BILLY]: A large burly man. Earnest and sometimes brave, but has some rage issues, and also junk food issues.
PRINCE MICHAEL/JOE/LION TAMER: (Male, early to late 20s, open ethnicity). [PRINCE MICHAEL]: MJ’s son. A sadist, he hates but protects his father. He is used to be the puppet master of the boys, which is disrupted by MARY. [JOE/ LION TAMER]: Plays his child self as well. An introverted, heart-breaking musician. Curious, observant, poetic and a beautiful soul. Born in the countryside, patient, a vagabond, old fashioned, romantic, attractive. The love interest of DAISY.
MARK/GENE: (Male, mid 20s to early 30s, open ethnicity). [MARK]: Plays his child self as well. DAISY’S brother, a charismatic, charming, practical, logically minded, suited with a wry sense of humor, the antithesis of the starving artist. [GENE]: A grown man with an innate goodness and childlike wonder. A Man-Boy.
MARY: (Female, 18-22, open ethnicity). Plays a 13 year old girl with leukemia. She’s bossy and foulmouthed. An edgy and funny women.
