San Diego Ballet

San Diego Ballet is a professional company and school celebrating 37 years of classical and contemporary dance in Southern California, led by executive and artistic director Javier Velasco. Its mission is to excite, enrich and entertain a diverse audience through imaginative presentation of quality classical and contemporary work, and its repertoire ranges from The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty to Latin-inspired pieces and live-jazz collaborations, including an ongoing partnership with The San Diego Museum of Art. The affiliated San Diego Ballet School operates year round at the Dorothea Laub Dance Place in Liberty Station, offering Children, Adult and Pre-Professional programs. The school specializes in ballet and other theatrical dance forms, welcoming both students aiming at professional careers and adults dancing for exercise and enjoyment, and students can audition for The Nutcracker, the Junior Company and student concerts. Summer dance camp, summer classes and a pre-professional summer intensive are also offered.
