Nimbus Dance Works

Nimbus Dance Works is a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional dance company and school based at the Nimbus Arts Center, 329 Warren Street, Jersey City, New Jersey. The organization bridges professional performance and community engagement, touring work (including the Acadia Dance Festival in Bar Harbor, Maine) and running the Nimbus Arts Center as a venue with a gallery, rentable studios and resident partner organizations. Its educational branch, the School of Nimbus Dance, offers training with a curriculum rooted in ballet, modern and diverse dance forms, combining technique with artistry, self-confidence, teamwork and leadership. The school runs campuses in downtown Jersey City and, since 2025, downtown Summit. Programs include youth ensembles, a pre-professional and advanced track program, performance ensembles, NimbusFIT adult dance and fitness classes, a summer semester for ages 2 to 18-plus, SummerArts camps for ages 4 to 11, a summer intensive, and an annual Jersey Nutcracker. Community programs include after-school dance, Dance to Learn and JC Grooves, and need- and merit-based financial aid is available.
