About this studio
Allegro Arts Academy in Carlstadt, New Jersey, was founded on the idea of promoting a love of artistic expression, and states its mission as passing that passion for the arts on to children of all ages so they develop a well-rounded and cultured spirit. The academy deliberately keeps class sizes small so that each student receives more individual attention and so teachers can correct problems before they become bad habits. Its youngest program is Twinkle Tots for ages 3 to 4, an hour-long introductory class combining ballet, tap and creative movement using props such as dance bears, hula hoops and maracas. Petite Stars for ages 5 to 6 splits ballet, tap and flamenco into separate 30-minute classes introducing basic steps and terminology.
