Metropolitan Ballet Academy & Company, at 700 N Cedar Road in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, provides classical and contemporary dance training for ages three to eighteen, plus adult classes, and has been running for more than 25 years across some 30 seasons. Its curriculum builds a classical foundation intended to prepare dancers for any dance form, with graded class levels, frequent performance opportunities, and a pre-professional training program feeding the Metropolitan Ballet Company, from which many alumni go on to professional careers. The academy runs a tuition-free Boys' Scholarship Program for ages seven to eighteen, a summer intensive, scholarships, and the Kinetic Literacy community outreach program.
