City Dance

CityDance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dance institution serving the Washington DC metropolitan region, founded in 1997 and operating five training facilities: the Music Center at Strathmore and Strathmore Square in North Bethesda MD, Rockville MD, Friendship Heights in Washington DC, and Falls Church VA. Thousands of students a week, from beginners to professionals, train across two main arms. CityDance Conservatory provides pre-professional training for ages 8-19, with separate classical ballet and contemporary tracks for ages 12-19, a Pre-Conservatory program for ages 8-12, a Studies program, dedicated boys/male-identifying classes, and summer intensives featuring guest artists and companies. CityDance Studios offers weekly classes, camps and workshops for kids and teens, plus adult classes and workshops in a range of styles, a dance team, school-year day camps, summer dance and a spring recital. The organization reports investing over $10 million in free community programs and more than $4 million in financial aid and scholarships. Alumni have gone on to companies including The Royal Ballet.
