B Funk Dance Co

B. Funk Dance Company is a family-owned studio serving the Ellicott City, Maryland area for 25 years and now operating in two locations. It offers recreational classes for ages 3 to 18 and adults in hip hop, ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, breakdance, K-Pop and gymnastics/tumbling, with entry-level Creative Movement and Lil' Movers classes for ages 3 to 4. Levels run from recreational through pre-professional, and the studio hosts master classes with choreographers from the music and entertainment industry. Owner and artistic director Laura Edwards is a professional dancer and choreographer whose credits include Step Up, Hairspray and Footloose and touring with Britney Spears. Competitive tracks are Company (ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary) and Crew (hip hop), both auditioned in June. The season runs August 31, 2026 to late May 2027 with a recital on 22 May; weekly summer day camps for ages 3-10, private lessons, studio rental and birthday parties are also offered.
