Wagner's Das Rheingold, originally recorded in February 2023 at the Winspear Opera House, is an epic myth of power, greed, giants, and gods — widely considered an inspiration for Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Nicholas Brownlee leads the cast in a role debut as Wotan, alongside Amanda Echalaz, Michael Mayes, Brenton Ryan, Barry Banks, Lindsay Ammann, and Peixin Chen. Emmanuel Villaume conducts this Tomer Zvulun-directed production from The Atlanta Opera.
