Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, originally recorded live at the Winspear Opera House in November 2022, follows the classic fairytale siblings as they venture into the forest in search of food, only to find themselves in danger of becoming a meal themselves. Countertenor Kangmin Justin Kim and soprano Elena Villalón lead the cast, with Patricia Racette playing both the Mother and the Witch. Emmanuel Villaume conducts this Doug Fitch-designed and directed production, originally from LA Opera. The recording is available for free, on-demand streaming on The Dallas Opera's YouTube channel throughout the month of June 2026.
