Verdi's epic opera Aida returns to the Metropolitan Opera stage for fifteen performances, from December 2, 2022, to April 27, 2023. The monumental production by Sonja Frisell makes its last appearance since premiering in 1988 at the Met, where it has played 240 times.

​​​​​​​ The Dallas Opera kicks off their 65th Anniversary Season with Verdi's Rigoletto, the first of four new-to-Dallas productions to take the stage in 2022/2023. The production, directed by Tomer Zvulun and starring a cast of today's most celebrated singers, including George Gagnidze (TDO debut), Madison Leonard (TDO debut), René Barbera, Raymond Aceto, and Nadia Krasteva, opens at the Winspear Opera House on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 8:00pm.

The Metropolitan Opera today announced its 2022–23 season, which features seven new productions, the most in ten seasons. Opening Night is September 27 with the company premiere of Cherubini’s Medea, starring soprano Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role alongside tenor Matthew Polenzani in David McVicar’s new staging, conducted by Carlo Rizzi.
