In this Dallas version of Terrence McNally?s award winning play, both leads are African-American. When the play first opened on Broadway in June 1987 at the Manhattan Theater Club, it starred white actors Kathy Bates and Kenneth Welsh. A revival of the play featured popular actors Edie Falco and Stanley Tucci, both of Italian heritage, with the roles subsequently filled by actors Rosie Perez and Joe Pantoliano, both of Latin ancestry.

Nickelodeon and Broadway Across America are teaming up to bring 'Dora the Explorer Live! Search for the City of Lost Toys,' starring the world's most famous Latina explorer, to Houston from July 10-12 for six performances at the Wortham Center (510 Preston). The last Dora 'Lost Toys' U.S. tour was seen by more than 1.2 million people during its 2003-2004 run. The 'Dora the Explorer Live!' shows have grossed more than $85 million in sales worldwide, traveled to more than 255 markets across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, Southeast Asia and have been seen by 2.7 million kids and parents.

Where this story departs from the manner hate crimes are dealt with in the country, usually as news sound bites, Vincent River takes an organic journey into the mindset of the parent(s) and their quest to understand who their homosexual child was.

From the stories of A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh has been dramatized by le Clanché du Rand. With music by Allan J. Friedman, lyrics by A.A. Milne and Kristin Sergel, and additional Lyrics by le Clanché du Rand, Winnie-the-Pooh will be performed Saturdays, June 6, 13 & 20 and July 11 & 18 at 1:00pm and 4:00pm, and Monday - Thursday, July 13 ? 16 at 9:45am and 11:30am. School groups should call 713-524-9196 ext 101 for available field trip times for July 13 - 16. The show is directed by Daria James and will be performed at Main Street Theatre (Chelsea Market, 4617 Montrose Blvd., Houston, TX 77006).
