Clay and Gloria are preparing a family barbecue. Their plans for the evening are disrupted by the unexpected arrival of their son's girlfriend, Evie, who has blood on her neck. Shortly thereafter, they learn that their son, Danny, is missing.
Due to Weather, Opening Night of DREAMGIRLS Rescheduled to Feb. 17

Due to the winter storm, the Tuesday, February 16, performance of DREAMGIRLS has been cancelled. Patrons holding tickets for the Tuesday night performance will be moved to an alternate performance date inside the Columbus run of the show. DREAMGIRLS will play seven performances at the Palace Theatre from Wednesday, February 17, through Sunday, February 21.
CAPA and OSU Present A SONG FOR CORETTA at Lincoln Theatre March 5-7

Produced by CAPA and the OSU Department of Theatre, Pearl Cleage's A Song for Coretta will play the Lincoln Theatre (21 E. Main St.) March 5-7. Inspired by the long line of mourners at Ebenezer Baptist Church paying their respects to Mrs. Coretta Scott King, this play introduces five fictional African-American women, aged 17 to 57, who find laughter and hope while waiting in the rain to say goodbye. A Song For Coretta explores the impact Mrs. King had on the lives of these women, and the connections they build with one another through her memory and legacy.

BACK TO THE GARDEN Returns to the Shadowbox 2/7

Shadowbox has now completed rehearsals for the return of its original documentary musical Back to the Garden. Opening night for the show is Sunday, February 7th and the troupe now has just one dress rehearsal remaining before the production is back on its feet.

Cabaret Night will be held on Saturday, January 30th at 8:00 PM at the Slayton House Theater in the Wilde Lake Village Center in Columbia. Applications for Cabaret Night performers are currently being accepted. To celebrate the 75th anniversary of George Gershwin's enduring masterpiece, a new production of Porgy and Bess has been mounted-with full approval of the Gershwin estate-by veteran opera producer Michael Capasso (General Director of New York's vibrant Dicapo Opera). Featuring a stellar cast, live orchestra, and brand new sets, costumes, and lighting, this groundbreaking opera weaves a tale of prejudice, love, and tragedy. Incorporating a wealth of blues and jazz into the classical art of opera, Gershwin considered Porgy & Bess his finest work with songs such as 'Summertime' and 'It Ain't Necessarily So.' Columbus resident and OSU graduate Eric McKeever will be performing the role of Jake for the national tour which runs through June.
